I’m a product and composite photographer based in Cape Town, South Africa. Growing up in the 1980s and coming of age at the turn of the millennium, my perspective on the world was shaped by two contrasting influences: the raw, untamed landscapes of mine dumps and bushveld where I played as a child, and the imaginative, otherworldly stories flickering on the brown box TV in my family’s living room. It was Kubrick’s 2001: A Space Odyssey that first opened my eyes to the vastness of possibility— an invitation to dream beyond the limits of what we know. This dual influence continues to define my photographic style.

I’ve always been a student of the world, endlessly curious about its mysteries. From geology to quantum experiments like the double-slit phenomenon, I’m fascinated by the idea that there’s more to reality than meets the eye. This curiosity naturally led me to photography — a medium that felt like a perfect fit for its analog ability to distill three-dimensional space into a two-dimensional story.

My work is deeply influenced by the cinematic aesthetics of science fiction and the simplicity of middle-class life. Starting out as a photographer, I sought to recreate the CRT images etched into my memory — those grainy, glowing visions of fantastical worlds. Today, I focus on exploring the textures, translucencies, and forms of still-life objects. Through play and precision, I aim to reimagine these subjects — to uncover their hidden elegance and present them in ways that feel fresh, unexpected, and alive.

My photography is a balance of storytelling and discovery. It’s about finding wonder in both the extraordinary and the ordinary — melding cinematic drama with thoughtful simplicity to create images that resonate with both imagination and familiarity.
